The UAP Transparency Act represents a significant step toward enhancing government accountability regarding unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP). Introduced in the House of Representatives on February 11, 2025, this legislation mandates the public release of all documents, reports, and records related to UAP held by federal agencies. The core purpose of the Act is to ensure that the public has access to information that has historically been classified or withheld, thereby promoting transparency in government operations.

Under the provisions of the Act, the President is required to direct federal departments and agencies to declassify relevant documents and make them publicly available within 270 days of the Act's enactment. This requirement not only aims to demystify UAP but also to foster public trust in governmental processes. Furthermore, the Act stipulates that a progress report on the declassification efforts must be submitted to congressional committees within 360 days of enactment and quarterly thereafter.
